Rugby World Cup 2007 €50 Kilo Silver Proof Coin

The British Royal Mint, stretches back over 1100 years of producing the coinage of Britain. Now they celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2007 with the issuance of the Rugby World Cup 2007 €50 Kilo Silver Proof Coin

This is an impressive coin and has been struck to superb Proof quality in the tradition of the Royal Mint. It is also a Rugby World Cup 2007 Official Licensed Product issued by La Monnaie de Paris.

There are only 299 coins going to be minted and, together with the unusual oval shape in the form of a rugby ball, this will make the kilo coin an exceptionally rare issue.
Only 40 silver Proof Kilo coins are currently available from the Royal Mint. Each coin is housed in a luxurious three-tiered wooden case, accompanied by an official 2007 Rugby World Cup rugby ball and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The Code is RWC7SPK and the price, £1295.00.
According to the mint, "Issued by La Monnaie de Paris, the coin features a reverse design depicting two rugby players in action, while the obverse portrays rugby posts along with the International Rugby Board official logo."

"Just 299 of these silver Proof kilo coins will be struck to satisfy worldwide demand, and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the low issue limit. Only 40 silver Proof kilo coins are available direct from the Royal Mint."
This 2007 The Rugby World Cup will be the sixth Rugby World Cup for the Quadrennial World Championship. It is being hosted by France from 7 September to 20 October 2007 with forty-two matches spread between ten French cities, four matches in Cardiff and two matches in Edinburgh.
