2007 Act of Union £2 Silver Proof

The 2007 Act of Union £2 Silver Proof, designed and produced by the British Royal Mint, is an excellent example of a beautifully designed limited-edition commemorative silver Proof £2 coin. This silver proof £2 coin celebrates the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union that brought together the kingdoms of Scotland and England under one Parliament.

Together the people of the United Kingdom forged the British Empire and in the nineteenth century established Britain as the ‘workshop of the world’. The Union has continued over the last three centuries and its longevity is probably due to the fact that it has been continuously adapted to meet the needs of time.

This superb silver Proof coin is issued in .925 sterling silver and plated with fine gold on the outer ring. It is presented in a green case together with a Certificate of Authenticity and has been struck to superb silver Proof quality in .925 sterling silver with the outer ring plated with fine gold.

There is a unique edge inscription: 'UNITED INTO ONE KINGDOM', and the reverse features a design by artist Yvonne Holton, FRSA and the elegant portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley, FRBS features on the obverse.

There is a limited edition of just 10,000 so it is worth while grabbing this splendid coin while there are some available. With any new issue the coin dealers are usually the first to grab large quantities with bulk orders for a later sale.
